HDR High Dynamic Range Photography is an amazing way of showing detail particularly in Property Photograhy.
Images are often made up of 3 light areas - Shadows, Midtones and Highlights.
Our eyes are amazing and can take in detail in all these light areas at the same time. Cameras are not so clever and can only expose for one third of the image lighting - shadows, midtones of highlights but not all 3 at once!
Standard Photography = taking ONE photo at ONE exposure.
HRD Photography = taking MULTIPLE photos to expose for each area of light.
Then with some very clever software these images are merged together to create one photo showing all the detail in all the light areas.
The examples below show one photo taken straight from the camera, exposed for the midtones, the next photo is a HDR image.
See how the HDR image shows detail in the shadow, midtone and highlight areas.
